Clara Marie Brown

Clara Marie Brown passed away Monday morning, June 16th at her home in Butte.  She was born in Butte July 19, 1941 to James and Edna (Strike) Neighbor and attended local schools.  She and William Brown were united in marriage on December 22, 1957 in Gold Hill Lutheran Church.  He passed away in 1992.

Clara worked as a nurse’s aide and later as a secretary at Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company.  She also worked as a dispatcher for Owl Cab and City Taxi.  She worked as an operator/dispatcher at the Montana Power Company, retiring in 2001.  Clara was active in her church, served as a board member and leader for the Campfire Girls, belonged to the Daughters of Norway and enjoyed toll painting, gardening, sewing, bird watching, scrap-booking and baking. 

Clara is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Becky and Ray Aikens of Las Vegas, NV, Kari and Chris Hauge of Stavanger, Norway, sons and daughters-in-law: Steven and Brenda Brown of Butte, William and Mary Brown of Henderson, Nevada, James and Wendy Brown of Butte, brother, James Neighbor of Butte and daughter-n-law, Toni Rouse of Helena.  Her grandchildren include: Amanda Aikens, Andrea Aikens, Brianne Aikens, Stefanie Jo Brown, Kaytlyn Brown, Bjorn Hauge, William Hauge, Even Hauge, Kevin Brown, Cora Brown, Dominick Brown and Steven Hettrick.  Also surviving are her three great-grandchildren: Matthew Rawson, Benjamin Cunningham and Luna Ray Souder, step-grandchildren, Amanda, Gabe, Shawn and Joseph as well as numerous nieces and nephews including Ricky Andres and Vicky Neighbor Rowling who both, for a time, lived with Clara.

Clara’s remains are in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home where friends may call Friday afternoon after 4 o’clock.  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o’clock in the funeral home and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.   Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, The American Heart Association or to Easter Seals.


Joseph Paul Rosetti Sr.

Joseph Paul Rosetti Sr. passed away Sunday, May 25th at Big Sky Senior Living.  He was born in Meaderville on September 24, 1913 to Paul 

and Desolina (Peretti) Rosetti.  He attended the Franklin Grad School in Meaderville and upon graduating from the eighth grade went on to attend the Butte Business College for 1 ½ years.  At the age of 15 he went to work for the Montana Power Company delivering gas and electric bills.  He retired as the Tax Accountant and Assistant Treasurer of Montana Power Company in 1976 after 47 ½ years with the company.  He then hired on as a consultant for two more years.

He married Alice B. Olcott in Billings on September 11, 1938 and they made their home in Butte.  He was drafted into the United States Navy and from February 14, 1945 until May 2, 1946 with a rank of SKD 3c.

Joe played baseball, bowled, golfed, fished, camped, gardened and enjoyed all outdoor activities in general. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice and brothers, Mario (Turk) Rosetti and Attilio (Till) Rosetti.  Survivors include his brother, Charles Rosetti of Seattle, WA, son and daughter-in-law, Joseph H. and Kathy Rosetti of Missoula, daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and William J. Mellinger of Gahanna, Ohio.  Also surviving are his grandchildren: Sean C. and Kathy Mellinger of Richland, WA (Dillon, MT), Holly and J. Paul Reck of Opwell, OH, Jason and Janiece Rosetti of Edmond, OK, and Jamie and Mike Sparr of Missoula.  Great-grandchildren include: Xavier Feck of Powell, OH, Jolie Rosetti of Edmond, OK and Ashlyn and Jordan Sparr of Missoula.

Cremation has taken place and no public services are planned.  A special thank you goes to Rocky Mountain Hospice and the staff of Big Sky Senior Living for all of their care.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky Mountain Hospice or the Montana Tech Foundation.     

Sally Dawn Waldemar

Sally Dawn Waldemar passed away May 17, 2014 in a local nursing home.  She was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho December 21, 1921 to Mr. and Mrs. James Campbell.  She attended schools in Idaho Falls and settled in Butte in the mid 1950’s.  She married James Holman but they later divorced.  Sally married Ralph Waldemar in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho in 1974 and he passed away in 1997.  Besides her husband and parents, Sally is also preceded in death by her son, Joe Holman who passed away in 2000.

Survivors include her sister: Rose Smith of Idaho, daughter, Susan Mason of Butte, step-daughters, Shelly Rydeen of Great Falls, Jean Jamison and Kim Ward both of Idaho.  Surviving grandchildren include: Debbie Yates, Cory Mason, Kim Mason, Mark Holman, Jennifer Krzan and Danny Waldemar. Numerous great-grandchildren survive including: Sara Ehman, Reed Holman, Ashley Parish, Sarah Luther, Cydney Ward, Luke Mason, Nikki Price and Jason Young.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.  Interment of ashes will take place in Sunset Memorial Park.  

Rose Cecelia Doolan

Rose Cecelia Doolan passed away October 10, 2013 at the Copper Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born in Butte October 7, 1916 to Jacob and Mary (Fleck) Malensek and attended schools in Butte.  On April 15, 1936 she and John Patrick Doolan were united in marriage and he passed away December 31, 1996.  Rose was a longtime member of St. Ann’s Parish and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Joan and Clarence Malone of Meridian, Idaho, grandchildren: Mike and Julie Malone of Meridian and Jim and Kari Malone of Taylorsville, Utah.  Also surviving are her great-grandchildren: Brian Malone of Meridian and Scott and Madison Malone of Taylorsville. 

Cremation has taken place.  Graveside interment service have taken place in Holy Cross Cemetery.  Rose received wonderful loving care at the Copper Ridge Health and Rehab center and her family gratefully requests that any memorials in her memory be made to the Copper Ridge Activities Fund.       

Catherine G. "Boots" LeFever

Catherine G. “Boots” LeFever passed away Sunday morning in a local nursing home.  She was born in Butte August 23, 1929 to George and Katherine (Shutey) Henderson.  She attended local schools and on New Year’s Day, 1948 she and Norman E. “Gene” LeFever were united in marriage. 

Boots worked as a clerk at several area business including Bill’s Cash Grocery on Walnut Street, The Elm Street Market, Pay & Save, Albertsons and Town Talk Bakery.  She was a member of St. Ann’s Parish, St. James Auxiliary and spent many hours as a volunteer in the gift shop at St. James Healthcare. 

Besides her parents, George and Katherine Henderson, Boots is also preceded in death by her husband, Gene who passed away May 8, 1998, her brother, Bob Henderson and her granddaughter, Kim McDonald.  Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Mary LeFever, Jeff and Colleen LeFever and Mike LeFever all of Butte, daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Bill Hands also of Butte, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Michael Robert LeFever and Alician Acebedo of Butte, Kim and Nick Fulton (Paige and Noelle) of Belgrade, Michelle and Landon Boggs (Hayley) of Somers, Jonathan LeFever of Butte, Jordan LeFever of Butte, Tommy and Tia Lloyd (Trenton and Terrik) of Hailey, ID, Jessica and Andy Dirik (Elena and Amaia) of Texas, Jocelyn and Drew Taylor (Avery, Marisol and Andrew) of Texas, and Gina and Mark Gollihugh (Chelsea, Makayla, Zach and Jocelyn) of Florence. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Peggy Henderson of Butte and her life-long friends, Katherine White and Norma White as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Liturgy of the Resurrection for Catherine will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 o’clock in St. Ann’s Catholic Church.  Her family will receive friends at church beginning at 9 o’clock.  Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Paul Clark Home / McDonald’s Family Place.
