JAMES F. SULLIVAN August 14, 1932 – June 3, 2017

James F. Sullivan passed away peacefully at St. James Healthcare on June 3, 2017 with his loving family at his side.  He was born in Butte August 14, 1932 to Flurry “Floss” and Gertrude (Barenstein) Sullivan.  He attended local schools and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He married his soulmate, Delores Bohnet Sullivan on July 2, 1960 and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage.

Jim worked as a clerk and typist at the Mountain Con and then the Anaconda Company warehouses for 30 years then relocated to Wright, Wyoming where he worked at the Thunder Basin Coal Company for another 10 years until his retirement.

Jim enjoyed his retirement to the fullest.  He and Delores were snowbirds to Yuma, Arizona for over twenty years where they made many friends and enjoyed many parties.  They loved to travel and enjoyed many cruises around the world.

Jim was known to his family as a sweet soul with a great sense of humor and a love for his family we were so lucky to have.

Jim is reunited with his soulmate of 54 years, Delores Sullivan, his parents Flurry “Floss” and Gertrude Sullivan and a grandson, Brian Hardesty.   Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Claire and Jack Atcheson, daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Ted Selon, sons and daughters-in-law, John “Butch” and Chris Hardesty and Tom and Dianne Hardesty all of Butte.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place.  Memorial services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home with Father Robert Hall officiating.  A reception will follow in Wayrynen-Richards Community Center.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Special Olympics or the Alex Thatcher Memorial Scholarship at Montana Tech Foundation.
