Dolores Kambic July 23, 1933 – April 17, 2017

On April 17, 2017 Dolores Kambic passed away at the Shelby House in East Helena. She is now free to be the care giver she so loved to be. Mom was suffering from dementia but you could not wipe the smile off her face. On Easter Sunday she enjoyed a wonderful day with her family. And her family enjoyed a wonderful day with her. Mom was born in Butte to Howard and Sylvia George on July 23, 1933. She grew up in Meaderville with her brother Bill and sister Virginia and attended the Franklin Grade School and Butte High school. You can take the girl out of Butte but you can never take Butte out of the girl. All mom ever wanted was to go back to Butte, so on Monday the 17th, we took her back to Butte. She married William Matthew Kambic on October 5, 1952. They had three children, Patty, Bobby, and Billy. Dad passed in 2011 after 59 years of marriage. Mom had many jobs but she was born to be a salesman (women). If she was selling fruits and vegetables or coffee, she was in her element. When Todd picked mom up on Monday he told us when she stopped selling coffee, he stopped drinking coffee. Mom and dad ran the Red & White Dairy Drive Inn for 15 years. Her gift of gab was always an asset. If you were in a hurry you didn’t stop there. However, the best chicken in Butte. Mom loved to gamble one nickel at a time. Dolores is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother and sister in law, Bill and Lois George, niece Maryanne DeWolf. She is survived by her three children Patty and Don Eva, Bob and Anita Kambic and Bill Kambic. Her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren: Missy and Bob Sampson(Holden and Raelee), Jennifer Shearer( Sophie), Joe and Mandy Kambic, Justin and Megan Kambic(Annabelle, Matt, Emma and baby Kambic), Kara and Cody Sutton( Kaylee, Hunter and Zoey). Kyle and Kim Kambic ( Konner, Kody, and Kaine), Ashley Kambic(Jordan, Payton and Gavin),Kendra Kambic (Annika and Jalynn),her sister and brother in law Virginia and Walt Hanson. And many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Mom had too many friends to mention but you know who you are. One of mom’s favorite things in Butte was the Lady of the Rockies, so as you think of her look at the lady and have a cup of coffee. Rest in Peace mom, we all love you and will miss you every day. I would like to thank Shelby Cleveland and all the people at the Shelby House. They loved mom unconditionally and took such good care of her. Friends are asked to join the family on Thursday after 5:00 PM in Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Parish Vigil will be recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Our Lady of the Rockies
