September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and the Butte Public Library is joining libraries nationwide to remind everyone that a library card is the most important school supply of all.
Since 1987, Library Card Sign-Up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year and to highlight the power of libraries in opening doors to knowledge, learning, and discovery. With a library card, patrons of all ages can access a world of resources — from books, e-books, and audiobooks to online learning tools, research databases, movies, and community programs.

Throughout September, the Butte Public Library will host special events and activities to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month. We will attend several local events and businesses. Residents who don’t yet have a card are encouraged to visit the library to register for free.
