Butte-Silver Bow Public Library:

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and the Butte Public Library is joining libraries nationwide to remind everyone that a library card is the most important school supply of all.

Since 1987, Library Card Sign-Up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year and to highlight the power of libraries in opening doors to knowledge, learning, and discovery. With a library card, patrons of all ages can access a world of resources — from books, e-books, and audiobooks to online learning tools, research databases, movies, and community programs.

Your library card is your ticket to free access — not just to books, but to technology, learning opportunities, and experiences that support lifelong growth.  Whether you’re a student, a parent, or a lifelong learner, a library card connects you to opportunities that can make a real difference.

Throughout September, the Butte Public Library will host special events and activities to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month. We will attend several local events and businesses.  Residents who don’t yet have a card are encouraged to visit the library to register for free. Signing up is easy, and with a card in hand, patrons can take advantage of the library’s wide range of services, both in person and online at www.buttepubliclibrary.info.
