Butte Farmer’s Market SNAP Starts Up

Beginning June 20, shoppers again can use SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) at the Butte Farmers Market. For the second year, the market will be participating in the SNAP match program, Double SNAP Dollars (DSD).  When a customer uses their SNAP card at the market, they will receive a SNAP match up to $10 to purchase additional fruits and vegetables. Participants of Summer 2020 SNAP-Ed Nutrition Classes can receive an additional $20-$60 in Free Double SNAP Dollars.

How to Use Your SNAP card at the Butte Farmer's Market

Customers will need to go to the SNAP table, located at Park and Dakota, where the SNAP coordinator will process the customer’s SNAP card in exchange for their tokens to purchase foods at the market.

This year, we will match up to $10 in DSD tokens.

Tokens will be sanitized before and after distribution.

Safety at the Market - Shoppers enter the Market at Dakota Street and exit at the west end. Then use the sidewalk to return. Keep 6 ft. distance from others not in your party, and practice safe personal hygiene. Masks, sanitizer, and handwashing are available at the SNAP Table. If you’re feeling unwell, delay shopping at the Market or ask someone to shop for you.

In addition to SNAP, we also accept debit/credit cards to be exchanged for $5 tokens, same as cash for all goods at the market.
