Butte-Silver Bow announces opening of Ridge Waters Waterpark

May 22, 2020 –
BUTTE, Montana – Butte-Silver Bow announced the upcoming opening of its Ridge Waters Waterpark on June 11, 2020. Ridge Waters will open under strict hygiene and social distancing guidelines. Attendance will be limited to 250 people at a time. According to Governor Bullock’s Phase 2 Reopening Montana Directive, pools are one of the amenities that are allowed to open to the public if they are able to maintain proper distance between swimmers and ensure the water is managed appropriately. Butte-Silver Bow Parks and Recreation staff, including lifeguards, will continuously monitor patrons to ensure guidelines are followed.

There will be three daily shifts at the waterpark with lap swimming from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and open swim from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. All pool equipment and surroundings will be thoroughly cleaned during the breaks. In addition, Ridge Waters is equipped with not only chlorination, but also a system that constantly circulates water through a UV light. Both measures provide extra protection against germs and viruses.

“While we are still exercising extreme caution, it is important to provide healthy outdoor recreation for the citizens of Butte-Silver Bow,” said Dave Palmer. “Our staff will be taking extra precautionary measures to ensure the safety of all who would like to utilize the waterpark. I am confident our citizens will also take care when using the facilities to protect their families and neighbors.”

For patrons who have purchased Ridge Waters Season Passes for this year, and do not wish to use them due to COVID-19, refunds will be granted for this year only. The refund request form can be picked up at the Highland View Golf Course Clubhouse at 3150 S. Utah, or by downloading it from the Parks and Recreation website: and the Ridge Waters website: The un-used pass/gift certificate must be attached to the refund request form in order to receive the refund and it must be submitted by mail or to the Highland View Golf Course Clubhouse by June 11, 2020. Requests after that date will not be accepted. If you currently have a season pass for summer 2020, and would still like to use it, they will be honored.
