Sumer gardening series at BSBPL

Continuing our summer gardening series:

John Wallace from NCAT will be here to demonstrate seed saving on Thursday, July 25th at 6:00 pm. Seed or tuber saving is about saving part of your crop and reusing it the next year. This allows for the continuation of successful plants instead of commercial purchasing of seeds every year.

NCAT: Since 1976 the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) has been serving economically disadvantaged people by providing information and access to appropriate technologies that can help improve their lives. During the organization’s rich and varied history, NCAT projects have ranged from low-tech to high-tech, addressing complex issues of housing, economics, and environmental quality. Weatherizing houses, training farmers, monitoring energy use, demonstrating renewable energy technology, testing new products and providing information on building construction are just a few of the many ways that NCAT has contributed to fostering healthy quality of life for everyone .

John Wallace studied Agricultural Economics at Colorado State University where he gained a passion for growing food locally and sustainably. John worked and lived on a small farm in Steamboat, Colorado, where he grew organic fruits and vegetables for Hilton Gulch Herbs before making his way to Montana.
