Maria Dolores Rosenblum passed away on a Saturday morning last fall in a local nursing home. She was born in Puerto Rico April 14, 1946, to Masinusio and Eudis (Calderia) Rosado. She grew up in New York City and Stanford, Connecticut and served as a motor transport operator with the United States Army. She was honorably discharged in 1981. At the age of 57, Maria returned to school, pursuing a higher education at Montana Tech as the first person in her family line to graduate from college! She was an active volunteer in the schools where her daughters attended over the years and later in life with the Red Cross – passionate about helping those in need. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at NCAT and was a member of the United Congregational Church. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, April and Michael Stoltz of Butte and Nicole and Ryan Gauger of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, grandchildren, Molly and Alexander Stoltz and Jordyn Gauger. Also, surviving are her sister, Judy Hill, and brother, Joseph Gorrin both of South Carolina. She is preceded in death by both her parents.

Cremation has taken place. In true Maria fashion (“any excuse for a party”), a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 3th, 2017 at The Grand Hotel (above Quarry Brewing) in Butte, Montana. We will be honoring her proud Latina heritage with a Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) party. Interment of ashes will be in Fort Harrison Veteran Cemetery in Helena, Montana on Friday, December 8th, 2017. Memorials in honor of Maria may be made to curepsp.com.
