JOSE ANTHONY "TONY" HUERTA – August 29, 1957 – April 8, 2017


Jose Anthony "Tony" Huerta passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the Veteran's Hospital in San Francisco, California.  He was born in Butte August 29, 1957 to Salvador and Maxine (Eula) Huerta.  Tony attended Butte Schools and graduated from Butte High School before joining the United States Marine Corp.  He served his country proudly for six years and following his honorable discharge, Tony attended college in North Carolina where received his refrigeration license.  He worked in California for several years before returning to Montana.  He settled in Billings for about ten years then returned to Butte where he started his own refrigeration company, A-1 Refrigeration.  He retired for health reasons a few years ago but stayed active in the Marine Corp League and assisted with the Toys-4-Tots Program.  He was a member of the Leather Neck Nation Motorcycle Club and enjoyed salsa dancing. 

Tony had a passion for motorcycles and traveled extensively throughout the western United States reconnecting with old friends and making countless new friends.   

He is preceded in death by both is parents, Salvador and Maxine Huerta.  Survivors include: his brothers and sisters-in-law, Moises Huerta, Roger Huerta and Betty Morrison and Dan Huerta and Barbara Kolman all of Butte, nieces and nephews: Travis Huerta, Tony Huerta, Misty Lane, Pancho Huerta, Eric Huerta, April Huerta, Daniel Huerta and Eric Keller.  He is also survived by his cousins Randy and Cathy Dunaway and Melvin Dunaway. 

Cremation has taken place in California.  Memorial services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home with Deacon Ron Fournier officiating.  Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the form of cash contributions to Toys-4-Tots.  Express condolences at
