Kenneth Howard Schopfer passed away Good Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Butte Copper Ridge.  He was born in Helena Sunday, October 9, 1927 to August R. and Hattie M. (Cram) Schopfer and attended Helena schools, He graduated from Helena High School and joined the United States Army where he served his country honorably.  Ken worked for Mountain Bell for 30 years, starting right after his return from the United States Army and was lucky enough to retire at the age of 56. 

Following his discharge, he returned to Montana where he met and fell in love with a switch board operator in Butte.  He married Ann Jean Monahan in St. Patrick's Catholic Church on April 11, 1959 and for fifty eight years and four days they were inseparable.  Ann Jean passed away on Good Friday, April 6, 2012.  He is also preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

Ken had a passion for puzzles, love fishing and had a keen sense of humor. 

He is survived by four nephews, three nieces and their spouses, their children and grandchildren, all of who loved him dearly.   

Kenneth Schopfer's remains are in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock with Father Thomas Haffey officiating.  Entombment will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum in Mountain View Cemetery and a reception will follow in Wayrynen-Richards Community Center.  Memorials in memory of Ken may be made to the Butte Emergency Food Bank.  Express condolences at www.wayrynen-richards.com.
