William "Bill" Leary - May 13, 1939 - April 8, 2017

William (Bill) J. Leary entered Heaven’s gates on Saturday April 8, 2017 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with COPD. He was born May 13, 1939 in Billings, and then moved to Butte. He attended Carroll College, was drafted into the Army. He and his wife Patricia were married on October 8, 1982. He retired from the Montana Dept. of Transportation, was a long time member of the Butte Country Club where he was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his father William Keefe Leary, mother Stella (Egan) Leary, aunt Marie Egan and cousin Tom Durkin Senior. He is survived by his wife Pat Leary, daughter Kathleen (John) Kershaw of East Helena. Sister-in-law Carol (Newt) Koelzer of Spring Creek, NV and their children Steve Koelzer; David (Jana) Koelzer and their children Korey (Dani) Koelzer, Kolten Koelzer; Cheryl (Abbas) Riazati and their children Sarah, Jasmine and David; Jason (Holly) Koelzer; Toni (Terry) LeBlanc and their children Christen (Jake) Birkholz, Courtney LeBlanc and Nick Kircos, Caitlynn (Alex) Truzzolino and Carliegh LeBlanc. Sister-in-law Linda (Ed) Davies of Port Orchard, WA and their children Debbie Davies, June Davies, and Brian (Kellie) Davies. Cousin Marjorie Durkin of Butte, Dan (Kate) Durkin of Seattle and their children Evan and Linsey; Margie Durkin of Seattle; Tom Durkin of Butte and his children Rachael and Chelsey; Michael (Valorie) Durkin of Marietta, GA and their children Patrick and Olivia, and our very dear friends Vicky Strain and Suzanne Masters of Butte. Visitation will be held Wed., April 19, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Holy Spirit. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, there will be Internment with Honor Guard at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
