Orval Augustus Carling, 78, of Butte Montana, passed away on March 11, 2017 from a lingering illness.

He was born to parents Norval and Ellen Carling, in Fillmore, Utah on March 7, 1939. He married Nita Georgene Miller on November 23, 1978 and would go on to enjoy 32 years of marriage with her.

Orval is survived by his sisters Florence Benavidez of Henderson, NV; Anna Mae (Gordon) Williamson of Kuna, ID; and Colleen (Floyd) Dutson of Hinckley, UT.

Orval is father to Kay Lynn Golyer (Ron) of Powder Springs GA; Kenneth Lee Carling; Timothy Leon Carling; Ella Dee Carling of Butte, MT; Gretchen Carling; Bridgett Shew (Tracy) of Renton, WA; Carolyn Carling of Las Vegas, NV; Kathleen Vezina; Jeff Vezina of Cheyenne, WY; Christopher Vezina; Shawn Galahan of Seattle, WA; Shannon Galahan (Marci Umatum) of Seattle, WA;  Valerie Carling-Buckingham (Alton) of Oak Harbor, WA. He is grandfather to: Michael Lee Golyer; Ronald Lynn Golyer; Amanda Lee Carling-Moore; Kristine Lynn Carling-Boutte; Josh Shawn Carling; Leandra Kay Golyer-Allison; Tony Shawn Galahan; Ahren Jeffery Vezina; Kimberly Sue Vezina and Jennifer Vezina and is Great Grandfather to Corbin, Caleb, Emma, Alexa, Brayden, Dylan and Emilia Golyer.

Orval has numerous nieces and nephews and many friends here in Butte, especially at Bee Hive Homes --- all whom he also loved very much!

He is preceded in death by his wife Nita Georgene; his parents Ellen Isabell and Norval Carling; his sister Joyce Kirk; brothers Frank and Art Carling; his children Kenneth Lee, Timothy Leon, Gretchen Carling, Kathleen and Christopher Vezina; and granddaughter Kimberly Sue Vezina.

His remains are at rest at Wayrynen Richards Funeral Home at 1800 Florence Avenue, Butte MT 59701. Visitations and funeral services both will be Tuesday March 14th  starting at 9:30 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 1351 Mt. Highland Drive, Butte, MT., 59701. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
